God is Calling All of Us to Believe

All of us have spent past times seeking our own will and following our own desires. God is calling all of us to believe in His son Jesus Christ. This requires faith, repentance, baptism, and lifelong obedience. A commitment to live according to His holy word.

True Faith

Read Luke 12:22-34

  1. How much do you currently worry?
  2. What does a Christian have that they world does not have?
  3. Where is your treasure?

Deep Repentance

Read Matthew 16:24-27

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

  1. What does it mean to “deny himself” or self?
  2. What would you give in exchange for your soul (eternal life)?

Full-immersion Baptism

Read Acts 2:36-39

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Why are we baptized into Jesus Christ?

The word for baptized in this text means to “dip”, “immerse”

Read 1 Peter 3:18-22

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

  • We plead with God for a good conscience, forgiveness
  • Just as Noah was saved by the Ark, we are saved by our obedience to God. Faith, repentance, baptism, and lifelong faith.

Death – Burial – Resurrection

Read Romans 5:12-21

  1. Through whom did sin enter the world?
  2. What did sin bring to mankind?
  3. What gift did Jesus Christ bring to mankind?
  4. How did Jesus deliver this gift?

Lifelong Obedience

Christ is returning for His followers. Make sure that if you commit to God through Jesus Christ that can follow for life. Do not get caught unprepared.
