Bible Study is an Essential Part of Faith

True Faith Includes Bible Study

Meditate on God’s Words

Many attempt to have faith without studying the word. Bible Study is an essential part of faith. It is impossible to live in faith without devotion to the Bible. Faith is delivered by the word. Continuing faith is through biblical meditation, prayer, and ready God’s holy word.

Jesus Christ made the following statement in the Gospel of Luke:

27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”

28 But He said, More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

Jesus Christ made it clear that the “blessed” are those that hear the word of God and keep it (Obey it). Is your faith based on your personal thoughts and feelings, or is your faith based on God’s thoughts and commands?

God Gave Commandments from the Beginning

Most people in the world know about the Ten Commandments. Many even know a few of the commandments. You may be able to recite a few of them without using AI or Google. True followers in the Old Testament knew the Ten Commandments and followed these commandments. Their faith was based on what God’s said. Non-followers failed to know the commandments and definitely did not follow them.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) are as follows:

And God spoke all these words, saying:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

“You shall have no other gods before Me.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

These commandments are very clear. Those that desired to follow God (Jehovah) had to keep these commandments. Those that did not want to follow God most likely broke these commandments all the time. It is a matter of having true faith. Not Facebook faith. Where you like a positive statement. A faith completely built on Bible Reading, obedience, and dedication.

God Sent Jesus Christ to Fulfill the Law

Our wonderful savior Jesus Christ was sent by Almighty God to fulfill the law and prophets. In Fact, Matthew covers this in Chapter 5. See the following passage:

17 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Jesus Christ brought God’s heart to the World. A message of redemption. A cancellation of past sins, and power to overcome sin by the Holy Spirit. A mystery for centuries that was fulfilled in the Son of God. Redeemed people pray, read, encourage the church, listen to His voice, and remain faithful forever. Are you a person of faith?

Don’t Fool Yourself, True Faith Involves Obedience

You Cannot Obey What Your Fail to Learn

The New Testament is a brilliant masterpiece that could only have been provided by God. The message throughout the New Testament is consistent. God redeemed mankind so that could overcome sin. That they may live “Born Again” lives according to His words, His practices, and His precepts.

Jesus Christ made it clear in the Gospel of John. You must be born again. Paul continues this message in the sixth chapter in the Book of Romans, and Peter the Apostle reinforces this fact in his epistles. Faith is believing God’s word and acting upon His word. There is no other way to be a Christian (disciple).
